South African Golf Courses - Clovelly Golf Course
The
Clovelly golf course (opened in 1924) is nestled in the pristine
Silvermine valley close to Cape Town. It is situated in the Peninsula's
narrow strip of land between Fish Hoek and warm waters of False
Bay to the east and Chapman's Bay and cold Atlantic Ocean to the
west. This rural course is famous for its rolling fairways set
in a beautiful coastal environment. The course overlooks False
Bay and offers breathtaking views from all aspects of the course.
The natural sand dunes and wide variety of fauna (especially guinea
fowl, pheasant and peacock) as well as the magnificent trees lining
the fairway,
ensures
that a visit to the Clovelly Golf Course is a truly memorable
experience.
This challenging, aesthetically pleasing and immaculately kept
golf course is a tight course by South African standards. It is
a fine blend of testing holes with the Silvermine River and adjacent
pools adding much to the character of the course. The course is
a par 73 consisting of 18 holes and is 5908 meters long.
