South African Golf Courses - Leopard Creek Golf Course
Situated
just outside Nelspruit Leopard Creek borders on the Kruger National
Park near Malelane in the Mpumalanga province. This ultra exclusive
course was the mastermind of tobacco magnate Johann Rupert.
This par 72, parklands course is 6363 meters long and consists of
immaculately kept fairways and greens surrounded by indigenous bushveld.
The course is famous for its par 5 fourth that overlooks the Crocodile
River
and the Kruger National Park. The 14th hole has an uphill tee shot
with a rock cliff to the left of the fairway and a bunker to the
right. It is a relatively short hole with a small stream in front
of the green catching any short shots. Another hole that stands
out is the par 5 thirteenth; measuring 520 meters it plays to a
green constructed on tons of steel.
