South African Golf Courses - Sabi River
Golf Course
The
Sabi River golf course was build 57 years ago by the local farming
community as a 9-hole course for their own personal use. Golf Data
redesigned the golf course in 1992 and boasts well knitted fairways
through out the year due to a good irrigation system. The course
has many trees and water hazards play a prominent role on the course.
The 5 dams on the course ensure that no less than 14 holes have
water hazards on them. Greens consist of
bayview grass and silicon sand bunkers guard most of the greens.
The 11th hole par 4 on the Sabi River golf course is a challenging
and scenic hole with water running all the way up the fairway. Another
interesting hole is the 16th par 4 where the golfer is required
to negotiate trees to reach a raised green.
